Ati Williams is the host of HGTV & Netflix's new hit show, Hack My Home. Beyond the show, she wears many hats: designer, home renovator, builder, business owner, entrepreneurship advocate and role model, creative innovator, former Maryland resident, and mom. 

On March 8 & 9, Ati will have another role - Celebrity Presenter at the Maryland Home & Garden & Craft Show at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium - where she’ll share her can’t-miss DIY and design tips.

To get us all ready for more inspiration from Ati, we asked her to share some quick ideas.

What home gadget or tool should every homeowner own?

A ratchet screwdriver is a must-have home gadget because it is super versatile, efficient, and saves you time.

What’s the most underrated tool in your toolbox?

A tape measure. Seriously, people, measure three times!

What’s your favorite paint color?

White! Yes, boring I know, especially since I am such a colorful person. I like to paint my walls white then add pops of color. I am also crushing on a moody blue that’s almost black.

Do you have a recommendation for how to mix patterns or materials in design and décor projects?

Do it! Definitely mix colors, mix patterns, mix metals, mix styles, mix it all. Life is too short for matchy, matchy stuff.

Are you a plant fanatic or is your green thumb lacking?

Let’s just say I am no longer allowed to purchase any more plants from Trader Joe’s.

What’s the most important thing in your bag or purse?

A small tablet charger, because my cell phone battery is always running on 1% and I need backup.
